What's good~
My name is Charisma Malkia Butler (they/she). I am a non-binary BIPOC artist born and raised in the Bay and currently residing in Oakland. I have always been a creative since I was little, but didn't start doing THIS til about a few years ago. I had just came out as queer and crash landed at my dad's house. I wrote a lot of poetry, but the digital stuff was something I more just did on the side and practiced, I didn't think much of it because a lot of the people around didn't feel invested, so it was hard to get motivated. Until one day, through my bestfriend Eliana (who models for The Boogie in my art) introduced me to Silver Sprocket, and they not only gave me a TON of advice, critique, and praise, but also helped me make my first ever zine. Then later as I met more people in the art community, my "art parent" JesseJae (local tarot reader, drag queen, and painter who also models for our character Mynerva) and other local artists like S Katz (author of Satanic Feminism) and Ilan (local psychedelic synth artist and zine maker) helped me to be where I am today. I now have two published books, was featured in my first ever gallery at Somart, run a small printing service I run from my apartment for other queer artists, and have worked with all sorts of artists in the underground scene now. Thank you all for your love and support, there is so so SOOOOOOO much more to come so stay tuned!
Love your atoms called a face~
